Walking stick at 36

I didn’t want to ‘give in’ and get a walking stick, even though my pain and disabilities called for one. In this column for Take a Break magazine, I look at my internalised ableism and discuss why getting the mobility aid I desperately needed was the right more for me and how it’s our job as a society to help our children grow up without ableism in their psyche.
