Kiss with a serial killer

On a boiling hot summer’s day, Sherry Deatrick traipsed home from college on foot after a row with her boyfriend. The decision she made next brought her moments from death at the hands of serial killer Ted Bundy and has haunted her for decades.

When the handsome ‘college professor’ pulled up and offered the teenager a lift home in his his VW Beetle, she hesitated for only a moment, taking in the stranger’s good looks, reassuring smile and credentials.

Then Bundy drove past her home, out of town and to an abandoned building site, where his kisses gave way to his hands clamped around Sherry’s throat.
